Post: The July 22 announcement [to not accept VOTF funds] set in motion a sequence of words and actions that sharply divided priests and laity throughout the archdiocese and helped create the toxic environment that eventually led to Law's resignation as archbishop.--July 22, 2003 Boston Globe.
The implication is that if O'Malley makes the same mistake, he can expect the same treatment. Paul LaCamera, by the way, is vice trustee for Catholic Charities who also stated Voice of the Faithful is all about raising money for church charities.(sic)
Boston University Trustee David D'Allessandro who in 2002 also called for the removal of Cardinal Law recently encouraged a political movement against Archbishop Sean O'Malley. Boston University works in collaboration with Mayor Menino and the City Council in running Boston University Medical Center, where embryonic stem cell research takes place at its Biosquare across from the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. It is also the site of a biological accident involving a form of Tularemia. Tularemia, also known as rabbit fever, is a biological weapon developed by the Soviets early in the twentieth century.
(D'Alessandro: The Vatican sets all the rules. Priests cannot marry. Gays cannot marry. Women cannot become priests. The divorced can not accept Communion without an annulment. Abortion is forbidden. Birth control is anathema. . . . These parish sit-ins and protests are a wonderful beginning to sending a message to the Vatican Do not be fooled. O'Malley is but Rome's latest messenger, just like Law. Instead of a Basilica though, if he convinces people they must leave their parishes and schools, his reward will be a cardinal's red hat.
Protest publicly -- long and hard. Campaign vocally to deny him the red hat and Rome will get the message."David D'Alessandro Sell Art and Keep Parishes Open Boston Globe July 9, 2005) Don't miss D'Alessandro's list of what makes a Catholic of integrity.
Oddly, the man who hates Catholic Teaching said the following in calling for Cardinal Law to resign 3 years earlier.
Catholics and non-Catholics alike -- need such a decision [resignation] from the cardinal because the church is so important to our community. An unending series of headlines about child abuse threatens the many good works the church does in housing and education, among the sick and the poor.
In this climate, only someone with unquestioned credibility will be able to forward these initiatives and raise the money for them. There is only one way for the Archdiocese of Boston to put this scandal behind it and regain its rightful role as a force for good within our community. And that is with a new pastor and teacher and father at the top. --Boston Globe March 2, 2002
His understanding of Catholicism changed drastically in three years don't you think? Please note that like Post and LaCamera, D'Alessandro also makes a charities connection. Mayor Menino described him in 2001 as one of his men that he approaches to get things done.
It is clear that there is an overwhelming body of evidence that there is a coup in place against the Roman Catholic Church in this country, especially in Massachusetts. This evidence presented here is a small amount compared to a larger body of evidence that backs up the obvious.
Further, every politician I just mentioned in this article is a Democrat. It is clear that many members of the Democratic Party and particularly those in the Northeast, especially Massachusetts, have become an American form of the Orangemen. The Orangemen are the enemies of Catholics in Northern Ireland.
This should not surprise us. I already mentioned both Democrat Barney Frank's anti-Catholicism and the late Christopher Reeve's extreme views against Catholics and Republicans. When we listen to Howard Dean, we can hear vicious rhetoric against Republicans. Considering the members of his party, from John Kerry who used his receiving of communion as a political tool, to James Kelly, one would have to ask what rhetoric Dean is also using behind closed doors against Catholics. Dean is an ex-Catholic.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is not a sovereign state. It is part of the United States of America. It is time for the Department of Justice to expand its investigation into the politics of Mayor Menino to include the state legislature, the office of the Attorney General and the Secretary of the Commonwealth. The Department also needs to look into other organizations connected to this anti-Catholicism, including Hearst-Argyle Television, Boston area universities and elements of the Democratic Party. Failure to do so will open the door to such tyranny in other states.
The motive for this attack is simple. The Catholic Church stands between universities, charities and government from making a windfall profit on embryonic stem cell research and the sale of aborted body parts for this research. This is especially true in the university rich Boston area. Their tactics include manipulating the media, cyber-terrorism, harassment, verbal and emotional abuse.
The worst part of their actions is that they used the victims for their cause and then threw them away when they were no longer any use to them. Have you ever heard of, for example, the David D'Alessandro Full Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship for Children of Victims? No, but he can use the victims to put forth an agenda to overthrow the former and current Archbishop of Boston. These people used the victims as human shields. I cannot think of any as despicable as this.
There was no question that sexual abuse happened. Yet it has not happened to the level indicated by the media by virtue of the number of priests found to be victims of a false accusation. This also does not include the vast numbers of priests who have been good, holy, faithful men in service to their parishioners.
Sex abuse by teachers in public schools is a taboo subject it seems in Massachusetts. Need I mention the emotional and verbal abuse public school students suffered at the hands of the members of teacher's unions, myself included? When someone is accused of a crime, it does not give the state the right to assume automatic guilt and/or to take over the family. It also does not give anyone the right to circumvent the justice system. However, this seems to be the thinking behind those attacking the Church, especially among the Orangemen Democrats in Massachusetts.
This however, may not be too far-fetched a form of thinking of these American Orangemen and their supporters. Mary Jo Bane, former Clinton Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services is now a professor at Harvard's JFK School of Government. She was one of the main forces involved in the protest against innocent Catholics and in calling for the resignation of Cardinal Law. She is well known for the following quote:
In order to raise children with equality, we must take them away from families and communally raise them.
It seems the Orangemen believe they also need to take them from the churches first.
It is time for the Department of Justice to make this expanded investigation. That is truly the right thing to do.
