Shop St. Maruthas
Bishop of Maiferkat, in Syria, who wrote the accounts of the Martyrs of Persia persecuted under King Shapur II. Maruthas also wrote hymns and was a friend of St. John Chrysostom. He was instrumental in restoring the Church in Persia in the reign of King Yezdigerd. Maruthas is called "the Father of the Syrian Church." He was also a gifted medical specialist.
