St. Fursey
Died: 650
Irish monastic founder, the brother of Sts. Foillan and Ulan, praised by St. Bede. Fursey was born on the island of Inisguia en Lough Carri, Ireland, as a noble. He founded Rathmat Abbey, now probably Killursa. In 630 Fursey and his friends went to East Anglia, England, where he founded a monastery near Ugremouth on land donated by King Sigebert. In his later years, Fursey went to France to build a monastery at Lagny, near Paris, France. He was buried in Picardy. St. Bede and others wrote about Fursey’s intense ecstasies.

16th jan 2013:st fursey pray for us.
I praise, thank, adore and glorify God. I offer my day to you, together with all my foibles and failings, my imaginings and obsessions. Grant me dear St. Fursey, your intercession on your feast day, that I may diligently go through my tasks, in honesty and fairness. Help me to devote myself to the ministries I have been called to. I see now, that what I've prayed for last year have come to a happy conclusion. May my beloved Mother enjoy eternal rest, peace and joy in the kingdom of Heaven. Give her a sweet smile today. Amen.
Dear St. Fuersey, Please pray for me, since your prayers are much more powerful than mine!
Yes, it's astounding that three siblings have become saints. God has indeed chosen you. St Fursey, I thank you for the communication that I had been eagerly awaiting. Please support me with your prayers and heavenly intercessions, for I am easily disturbed and imagine the worse case scenario in any situation. Your intercessions must help me to resolve a communications issue. Also, pray for good nursing care for my aged mother. We are trying our best too. Amen
