St. Alexis Falconieri
Patron of the city of Orvieto (Italy)
1200 - 1310
Founder and mystic, one of the first Servants of Mary or Servites. The son of a wealthy merchant in Florence, Italy, Alexis and six companions joined the Confraternity of the Blessed Virgin in Florence in 1225. Gathered together on the Feast of the Assumption in 1233, the group experienced a vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary which inspired them to found a new religious community dedicated to prayer. They founded such a group at La Camarzia, near Florence, moving eventually to Monte Senario, on the outskirts of the city. Another vision inspired Alexis and his companions to form the Servites, or the Servants of Mary. All in the group were ordained priests, except for Alexis, who believed he was not worthy of such an honor. He helped build the Servite church at Cafaggio, and he managed the day-to-day temporal affairs of the congregation. The Servites received papal approval from Pope Benedict XI in 1304. Alexis was the only founding member still alive. He died at Monte Senario on February 17, 1310, recorded as 110 years old. Alexis and his companions are called the Seven Holy Founders. They were canonized by Pope Leo XIII in 1888.

Dear St.Alexis Falconieri, Please pray for me.
St. Alexis Falconieri and all Servite saints, I marvel at how close Mother Mary was to you that she appeared to you on her feast day of the Assumption. On account of your special bond to her please pray for me to be able to say the Rosary. Also, pray to Mama Mary to give my ailing mother sweet relief from any pain, give her pleasant comfort, consolation, courage. Send angels to minister to her and may St. Joseph her favourite saint be at her bedside always. St. Alexis pray for all children who are born with developmental delays. Give vulnerable children the gift of fluent speech, good reasoning and study powers. Take away their attention defiency problems. Help them recover fully and lead a happy, healthy childhood. Amen
I was glad to learn that this saint and his friends had a vision on the Feast of the Assumption, that means that this feast is very significant for our Lady and reminded me of my father because he died the day we celebrated her Assumption in 1976, I,ve always believed that our precious Mother took him to Heaven that same day...St. Alexis Falconieri, you are so close to Christ¨s Mother that I pray for your intercesion so she takes care of my sons and me now that we are living among great violence in our country...pray for us,,
It is very helpful to me,for it is very good to work for the glory of God.For God is our only good, our aim should be heaven hence we should experience heaven by doing things practically here on earth rather than lip service talks,God bless you all
How blessed are they who actually get to see our Mother Mary? Though she has not given me a glimpse yet.., I feel especially close to her in the Rosary. God bless all.

Our Lady Of Fatima Pray For Us,
Paul Welsh.
The history of each saint is very interesting, but what I really want to know is 'WHY' each were canonized? It is my understanding that just because one does good deeds that that does not warrant sainthood. That piece of information is missing from each excerpt and I think it would help me in getting closer to God were it included.
this is very helpful for me. i love it that his feast day is my birthday :))
i used this for my church project and it is not helpful
I think of it as a very helpful service, and i thank you for the information
This site is so helpful for my sister.
