I have to do a report on a Saint. this has barley any info. know any other web sites? anyone?
the icon above presents last tsar of Russia and his family (among them russain emporess alexandra of hesia)!
It's not the icon of St. Alexandra and Companions!
St. Claudia, Alexandra, Euphrasia, Matrona, Juliania, Euphemia, Theodosia, Derphuta and her sister were arrested in the city of Amisus (on the coastal region of the Black Sea) during the persecution against Christians under the emperor Maximian Galerius. Under interrogation they confessed their faith and were subjected to cruel tortures for this. The malefactors scourged and beat them with rods, and cut off their breasts. After this, they were suspended and torn with sharp hooks. Finally, the holy virgins were burned alive in a red-hot oven.
You can get an icon of the St. Claudia mentioned above, but Im not sure about the others.
I only know Saint Alexandra of Rome described in the life of Saint George.
