A Christian virgin of Cumae, Italy, martyred for the faith when she refused to marry a Roman prefect. She suffered terrible ordeals and was finally beheaded. One tradition reports that Juliana actually suffered martyrdom at Nicomedia and that her relics were transferred to Cumae. She is depicted in liturgical art as surrounded by flames, or binding the devil.

I found this quite fascinating and inspiring. What a noble and courageous young woman! It is remarkably unbelievable! yet so true! Saint Juliana, please heal my sickness which has caused me blindness to the truth. Thank you today is your Feast day, so I pray that you bless my family and me, keep us free from the devil and his deception. Thank you dear Saint Juliana.
