Popular Men's Rosary Movement Taps Ghirelli for Rosafy Creation
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CHICAGO, Il (August 5, 2013) – In a timely collaboration, Ghirelli Srl, and Real Men Pray The Rosary, have developed a custom rosary designed to affirm the mission of the popular apostolate and to provide its supporters with a devotional tool illustrating the spiritual union of belonging to such a diverse group of men and women.
“The creation and customization of the Real Men Pray The Rosary rosary has given me great joy,” explained Alessandro Ghirelli, founder of Ghirelli Srl. “What has filled my heart and the heart of my wife with happiness as Catholics is to see that there are lay organizations who are not ‘ashamed of Christ’ before a society that, as St. Paul says, ‘boasts what it should be ashamed of’.”
In designing the apostolate’s one-of-a-kind keepsake, Alessandro and Ghirelli’s Italian design team thought about the strength and vigor that a rosary of this kind should carry with it. “Fortitude is represented in the shield shape of the centerpiece,” explained Alessandro. “It is a design similar to the one the Vatican commissioned us to create for Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI and now Pope Francis — ‘real men’ who have prayed the rosary and promoted the devotion to the modern world.”
The development process for the Real Men Pray The Rosary rosary took about six months. The front side of the centerpiece design includes a detailed image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and the back side presents the unique logo of the Real Men Pray The Rosary apostolate. “The image designs on these components represent the strength of the love of God, and they remind all men of our shared commitment in the daily fight against the devil with his seductions and temptations,” said Alessandro.
The crucifix is a replica of the top of Blessed Pope John Paul II’s papal crosier, the same one which he so many times rested his head in the enormous efforts of his ministry. The color of the hematite beads conveys the strength of the rock which is the Word of God. These elements, alive in their message, crafted in Italy by the best of Ghirelli’s rosary artisans, have tried to give life to a unique rosary especially crafted for this extraordinary movement of men, and women, across the world.
“I truly feel Ghirelli has made my dream of the power and beauty of the rosary a reality,” said David Calvillo, founder of Real Men Pray The Rosary. “We have received an overwhelming
response from not only men who support our rosary apostolate, but also from women who are purchasing our rosaries for the men in their lives. We are grateful to Alessandro and the entire Ghirelli team for bringing this part of our apostolate’s vision to life.”
Attendees of the 2013 Catholic Marketing Network Show, held August 6-9 in Somerset, NJ, can see the rosary created for Real Men Pray The Rosary at Ghirelli’s Booth #128 or at Real Men Pray The Rosary’s Booth #433. To order, visit www.realmenpraytherosary.org/product/rmptr-rosary.
