MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN (November 22, 2011) - "Angelic Twaddle will be a fantastic gift for friends and relatives looking for the lighter, more celestial side of life, as well as a blessed indulgence (pun intended) for yourself and your family. At just $9.95, it’s also a heavenly bargain." These are the words of well known Catholic author, columnist and speaker, Marge Fenelon. Her complete review of the new book, Angelic Twaddle Comics can be found at http://margefenelon.com/archives/981.
First released as web blog in December of 2010, the comic series, Angelic Twaddle has been featured on several Catholic websites.
Well known dynamic speaker, author and catechist, Stephen Ray posted a link to Angelic Twaddle from his blog with a gentle endorsement, http://www.catholic-convert.com/2010/12/07/7609/
Additionally, the Catholic Lane website regularly features Angelic Twaddle in their humor section, http://catholiclane.com/category/arts-leisure-culture/humor/
Fenelon's review of Angelic Twaddle continues, "The book’s introduction is a sample of the flavor of what readers will find inside:
“My children and I take no responsibility for this comic series; we were compelled by unseen forces that we could not resist. We blame this book entirely on our parents, God, and the angels.
“WARNING: The world-view and framework presented by Angelic Twaddle is tantalizing for constructing a complete infallible belief system; please consume moderately.”
Hogwash. Consume all you like, and once you’ve consumed all of it, go back and re-digest it because it’ll strike you a new way each time you open it. From the slippery slope of angelic interference as a toddler builds a block tower to the regrets of Black Beard’s guardian, Angelic Twaddle explores “Girl Power”, ”Google Hell” and “Plumber’s Butt” all from a wacky guardian angel perspective, and will get you thinking – and laughing at – the antics of angels as it simultaneously pulls you into the reality of their existence.
To view the comic series go to angelictwaddle.com; to read all the comics you'll need to buy the book. The book is 90 pages and includes 85 original single-panel comic illustrations.
Angelic Twaddle is a comic series that Louis Hall and his kids created. The Hall family are members of St. Joseph's parish in West St. Paul, MN. Louis states, "Creating this blog and our book, has provided a wonderful excuse to spend more time with my six kids and together learn about visual communication. My children’s curiosity, brilliant questions and insights have catapulted our guardian angel babble to new perspectives and distortions."
The illustrations were completed by Louis Hall; his children scanned the comics, conducted digital file management and assisted with edits and proof-reading.
