Expected to cost around $1000

Apple announced the upcoming release of the giant iPad Plus, Apple TV and iPhone 6s.

Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (Catholic Online) - As of now, Apple plans to announce the devices this week, allow pre-orders in October and begin shipping in November, however the realistic expectation is to begin shipping at the end of November.

The iPad Plus is expected to cost up to $1000 but little else is known at this time.

There are rumor concerning the size of the iPad Plus. AppleInsider claims it will feature a 12.9 inch display and will include an NFC radio.

Though it is only a rumor, people are getting excited and hope the new iPad screen will have improved touch latency.

While information concerning the iPad is limited, there is much more information available for the new Apple TV.

Buzzfeed's John Paczkowski announced the upgraded Apple TV will offer universal search, which is a single search bar that runs the request through all available providers -such as Netflix, iTunes, HULU and more- to see where people can watch or listen from.

The universal search option also opens opportunities for people to choose the least expensive viewing option.

Rumors of a touchscreen remote control have been spreading. It is believed to support wireless game pads.

9to5mac reports, "[T]he fourth-generation Apple TV will actively compete for TV gamers with updated hardware, software, and peripherals that will debut at Apple's September 9 event in San Francisco. One of the next Apple TV's tentpole features will be near-universal Siri control, a feature hinted at in Apple's invitation to the event."

The iPhone 6s will feature the Force Touch input currently in use on the Apple Watch and latest MacBooks and is expected to have a USB-C input.

The USB-C input may or may not be a new port option. It is possible it can replace the Lightning connector but nothing is certain.

Rhoda Alexandar, an analyst at market researcher IHS said, 'The release timing is fuzzy, it may not appear until Q4 (fourth quarter) with the other iPad updates. We are, however, getting input from both the component and [product] side that this is a real product, and part of their 2015 building plan."

Apple CEO Tim Cook told the most recent conference call audience, "Over the long arc of time the iPad is a great business. I also have visibility obviously of what's in the pipeline and feel very, very good about that."

A Chinese networking site, Weibo, claimed the specs for the new iPad will be 12.9-inch displays with 2K resolution and a 7mm thin profile.

Apparently, it is supposed to weigh 700 g and contain a large 11,000 mAh battery.

Images claiming to have been leaked from employees at Foxconn show four speakers and a design similar to the iPad Air 2.
