LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - "It is important for us Kenyans to know that the U.S. is not God," evangelical Bishop Mark Kariuki said to local media, insisting that Obama should stay clear from the gay issues.

Earlier this month, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled same-sex marriage legal nationwide and covered the White House in rainbow lights.

"Those who want to engage in those businesses, they can do it in their countries, and they can do it wherever it is they want," Ruto said in Breitbart. "In Kenya, we will stand firm. Those who believe in other things, that is their business...We believe in God."

In 2013, during a visit to Africa, Obama called for acceptance of same-sex marriage and was openly dismissed by Kenyan Cardinal John Njue, Archbishop of Nairobi and president of the Kenyan Episcopal Conference, along with other African leaders.

"Those people who have already ruined their society.let them not become our teachers to tell us where to go," said Njue in response to Obama's statements promoting same-sex marriage. "I think we need to act according to our own traditions and our faiths."

However, White House press secretary Josh Earnest stated the Obama would not be avoiding the gay topic during his visit. "I'm confident the president will not hesitate to make clear that the protection of basic universal human rights in Kenya is also a priority and consistent with the values that we hold dear here in the United States of America," said Earnest.

According to a President Uhuru Kenyatta's The National Alliance (TNA) lawmaker Jamleck Kamau, Kenyans will not be happy with the President if he brings with him the gay agenda.

"We are telling Mr. Obama when he comes to Kenya this month and he tries to bring the abortion agenda, the gay agenda, we shall tell him to shut up and go home," explained Irungu Kangata, another TNA lawmaker.

"Liberal thoughts are being entertained in some countries under the guise of human rights," said Justin Muturi, the speaker of the National Assembly, to an Anglican Church congregation. "We must be vigilant and guard against it. We must lead an upright society and not allow obnoxious behavior as we have a responsibility to protect our children."

Deputy President William Ruto also stands firmly against homosexual relations believing strongly it is "against the plan of God."

"God did not create man and woman so that men would marry men and women marry women," he stated to The Daily Nation.
