University of St. Thomas Houston Launches Catholic TV Programming

UST Worldview is now being offered.

​University of St. Thomas is expanding its reach with premium Catholic TV programming to all Catholics and non-Catholics in the Houston and surrounding viewing area.  With the blessing of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, St. Thomas will launch UST Worldview, an inspiring TV series that explores the richness of the Catholic faith. The series is produced in collaboration with Salt + Light Media.

HOUSTON,TX (Catholic Online)  - University of St. Thomas is expanding its reach with premium Catholic TV programming to all Catholics and non-Catholics in the Houston and surrounding viewing area.  With the blessing of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, St. Thomas will launch UST Worldview, an inspiring TV series that explores the richness of the Catholic faith. The series is produced in collaboration with Salt + Light Media.
 
The inaugural episode will air Saturday, Sept. 14 at 8 a.m. on The KUBE.

UST Worldview one-minute introductory openings will be hosted by Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, UST President Dr. Robert Ivany, UST Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Dominic Aquila and UST Chaplain Fr. Mike Buentello, CSB.

UST Worldview, will air on The KUBE* on Saturdays at 8 a.m. for 25 weeks.

UST Worldview programming including youthful programs, current affairs interview series and programming that celebrates faith in family life.

UST President Dr. Robert Ivany said UST Worldview brings a dynamic, Catholic perspective on many of the issues we face around the world.

"Captivating documentaries on recently canonized saints and interviews with prominent thought leaders will give our viewers, especially our youth, inspiration and hope for the future," Ivany said. "We appreciate the collaboration of the Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation in this important initiative."

Sample programming includes "Witness" Interviews with distinguished, high-level religious and civic leaders by Fr. Thomas Rosica, CSB, CEO of Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation; Creation Documentary about why we should care for the environment; a documentary of In St. Kateri Tekakwitha; story of St. Anthony; and stories of the New Evangelization in the Church today. Dr.  Dominic Aquila, vice president for Academic Affairs, said UST Worldview extends St. Thomas's educational mission to the wider Houston community.

"In collaboration with Salt and Light Catholic Media and KUBE TV, this series offers viewers a close and fascinating look at how Catholic men and women, inspired by the Gospel, meet the world's challenges with love, intelligence and a total commitment to God and neighbor," he said. University of St. Thomas in Houston, a Catholic, liberal arts university, educates leaders of faith and character. The University offers 35 undergraduate and 10 graduate degree programs, helping students take advantage of the many opportunities in this dynamic and thriving city. St. Thomas proudly continues the legacy of the Basilian Fathers.
