Becoming a Child of God
FREE Catholic Classes

"He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, but the world did not know him. He came to what was his own, but his own people did not accept him. But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name, who were born not by natural generation nor by human choice nor by a man's decision but of God" (St. John 1, 10-13).
This is the truth we celebrated during Holy Week. Jesus is God from God, Light from Light and True God from True God. He was in the world, He became a human being like you and me, He was in the world but the world did not know Him.
Unfortunately the world does not know Him yet. Just think about the place where you live, your building and your neighborhood, how many people acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God? How many people acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God in your house? Jesus goes on making prodigies and giving signs even to those who do not know Him yet. Even though, those who believe in Him and receive Him in their hearts are granted the grace of becoming children of God. Those who love Jesus and give themselves away to Him, those who strive to obey His Will receive that grace.
Nicodemus, one of the Doctors of Law, realized that Jesus was the Messiah and met Jesus during the night. By doing so, Nicodemus disagreed with the opinion of other Doctors of his time, who did not accept Jesus.
Perhaps you are also part of that group who resists in acknowledging the Christ; perhaps you need to approach your Savior today.
Jesus answered to Nicodemus, "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. (John 3,5).
Being born to a new life means becoming a child of God: new attitude and new behavior emerge from that birth; from that moment on, you cannot go on being your old self but a new man and a new woman.
Jesus wants to make all things new. You only need to open up to the Lord and receive Him as Your Savior, and God will make you be reborn from a Divine Father in Divine Filiation.
The roles we play in life as son, daughter, husband, wife, priest must follow Christ's model.
Jesus wants to grant us quality of life and not that kind of life we have been living. If you seek to break away from your old life, you must face your own reality: your reaction when you encounter difficulties, when you surrender to any kind of addiction or other human inclinations; you should realize how weak you are and ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life.
You cannot break free of your addictions and sins on your own.
Also, you should not wait to meet your Lord only after breaking free from your faults and sins. That is not possible because the Lord Himself is the Only One Who can help you to get your freedom.
Sin is part of our nature. It is ignorance not to accept our condition as sinner: bad thoughts, addiction, impurity and so on. If you are conscious of that, you know you have to seek healing. Even when we are not living addiction, adultery and other kinds of sin, we should take "vaccination" against them; like in Prevention Medicine, we should search for That One Who can protect and save us.
Sin transforms us into rebels. We are rebels when we accept our condition as sinner and only the blood of Jesus Christ can free us from rebellion.
Jesus saves us through His blood and Mary helps us to get nearer Her Son.
We ask you, humbly: don't scroll away.

If you yearn for your freedom, pray like that:
Oh Jesus, inject your blood in me, free me because I know I am impotent to break free from my present condition. Thank You, Lord! I accept You as my Savior and put my life in Your Hands. Make me a New Man and grant me New Life. May I experience that New Life through the unction of the Holy Spirit and under Your guidance.
Even if the world does not know You, Lord, I want that my life can be transformed into Gospel to those who do not know You yet. Thank You, Lord, because in the Eucharist I have Your Presence strengthening life inside me.
