When one looks at marriage, he recognizes that it is part of the Natural Law, the Divine Law, and the law of Jesus Christ. So important is marriage that it is elevated by our Lord to being a sacrament respecting the dignity of every human person. Ave Maria! There is nothing within the scriptural record that links 'natural law' and Divine Law. The presumption that the two are the same is no more than a theological rational. Yet the sexual abuse scandals of the church itself is overwhelming proof that 'natural law' is subject to a moral corruption that makes any suggestion of a link with God to be nonsense.
