This year the world's most methodological and result oriented design competition launches; A' Design Award and Competition. This particular design competition not only awards the best designs in an accurete way thanks to its significantly great jury, normalized results and tedious methodology, but also lets participants to benchmark themselves with others in a non-biased way through standardized score sheets and benchmarking graphs.

A welcoming opportunity for all, the award does not place any limits on participants' creativity and skills and open to anyone over legal age. The competition is open to anyone with a designed product, a design idea or a prototype; both designers, artists, artisans and non-designers are welcome to join. In additiona there are a wide range of awards for different design fields with different scoring criteria. The competitions are organized in sections such as; Furniture Design, Packaging Design, Architecture and Building Design, Fashion Design, Lighting Design, Toy Design, Digital and Electronic Devices Design, Interior Design, Vehicle Design, Interface Design, Home Appliances Design, Graphic and Advertising Design categories. Methodology - Designs that participate to A'Design Award (Regardless of Winning the Award) receive a score sheet and feedbacks from three different jury groups (Professional, Academic and Focus Group), each jury group consists of five select individuals and their votes are weighted differently for different score criteria. Professional Jury is composed of field-experienced people who have been working long years in the relevant sectors such as owners of production facilities or managers of design oriented companies, their votes are heavier on scoring criteria such as market value, functionality, usability, production technology. Academic Jury consists of university professors, mainly department heads and lecturers and their votes are more important for design, ergonomics, engineering, innovation.

Finally the focus group is composed of a target audience for the related category; these people are buyers of design but they are not design professionals nor academicians. Focus group's votes are stronger for points such as presentations and fun details. For each focus point, each Jury first gives a score and all these score are later weighted based on the relevancy and finally they are summed. During this process, we also normalize the participants score to remove any personal bias that could be created by focus groups, as these scores are available as designer rankings, the normalization process is important for comparing scores of different years. The jury also provides feedback for each participating design as form of votes and also written words. After the competition, each participant receives the score sheet and feedbacks from the fifteen different Jury members, these insights could be very useful to help improve the design qualities.
