WATERTOWN, MA (March 13, 2012) –Audrey Sommers to Appear on Live Talk Show of the CatholicTV® Network
On Friday, March 16, 2012, Audrey Sommers, Stories of Faith, will be featured on the CatholicTV Network’s nationally broadcasted live talk show; This is the Day, to discuss the new series, Stories of Faith coming to CatholicTV.
Audrey Sommers is an award-winning broadcast and print journalist having earned numerous accolades for her work in the Catholic media.
Audrey received the top Telly, a secular award for Best in Educational, Non-Broadcast video for her ‘Lector and Gospel Reader’s Workshop: A Resource for Bringing God’s Word to Life.’ Her DVD is selling world-wide through Liturgy Training Publications under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Chicago, Il.
Her latest TV program, coming to CatholicTV this spring, Stories of Faith, focuses on the faith of Catholics through their trials and tribulations. As a regular series, each story shows how God is working in the lives of those who grow in faith in their time of need, whether it be family, medical or financial related issues.
Most notable is her broadcast and print work for ‘Angels in the Caribbean,’ which generated hundreds of thousands of dollars for Food for the Poor. Ms. Sommers received two Telly’s for the half-hour TV special. She also was honored from the Society of Professional Journalists for her two-part print series, ‘Angels in the Caribbean,’ which was published in the Michigan Catholic newspaper. Audrey worked as a reporter for the WKBD Ten O’clock News in Detroit for seven years before joining The Michigan Catholic newspaper and CTND in 1998-2003.
Ms. Sommers was the field producer of the Herald Award-winning television program, ‘Quest for the Sacred,’ which was shot in Rome for World Youth Day in 2000 with Pope John Paul II.
Audrey has been the lector trainer for the Archdiocese of Detroit since 1996 and speaks at conferences across the country. She is a lector and Eucharistic minister at St. Colette Parish in Livonia, MI and is a lector for ‘Mass for Shut-Ins,’ that airs on Fox 2 Detroit and on the Catholic Television Network of Detroit.
