HAMILTON, VA (January 19, 2012) - Catholic Distance University is offering three new online seminars at the university's online campus. These seminars, Forming Disciples for Community and Mission, February 6 -27, Bioethics: The Catholic Approach, February 13 - March 5, and Classics in Spirituality, February 20 - March 12, provide an inspiring and convenient way for Catholics to learn more about the Catholic faith for just $30 per seminar.

Forming Disciples for Community and Mission: Basic Tasks of Catechesis follows Jesus' method of forming disciples to help others attain the full development of the Christian faith. This seminar, designed for catechists, summarizes the six fundamental tasks of catechesis as designated by the General Directory for Catechesis. Brian Pizzalato is the seminar author and instructor.

To help shape America's policy on bioethics, we must first be knowledgeable on the issues and Church teachings on these issues. Join William Saunders, author and national speaker, in the three-week seminar Bioethics: The Catholic Approach, to understand, analyze, and discuss prominent bioethics issues in light of Catholic social teaching.

Also offered in February is the seminar Classics in Spirituality with Father Bevil Bramwell, undergraduate dean at CDU. Learn how to identify and practice the means for growth in the spiritual life and appreciate what it means to be a mature Catholic who wants to follow Jesus Christ. The seminar will consider writings of Saint Theresa of Avila, Saint Francis de Sales, and Pope Benedict XVI.

CDU seminars provide a great formation tool for all Catholics. The online format allows for a classroom that is available anytime, day or night, to read a lecture, participate in a group discussion, reflect and pray in the online chapel, and ask questions of the instructor. Seminars are just $30 for any member of the Arlington diocese.

For more information about these seminars and to enroll, visit or contact Admissions at 888.254.4238 ext. 700.
