Obama addressed kids in Argentina, tells them to 'pick what works.'

President Obama has made a downright dumb and embarrassing statement to Argentine youth during his visit to that country last week. The President claimed there was no difference between communism and capitalism.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - In a bizarre moment, President Obama while addressing a group of Argentine youth, told the crowd, "So often in the past there has been a division between left and right, between capitalists and communists or socialists, and especially in the Americas, that's been a big debate."

"Those are interesting intellectual arguments, but I think for your generation, you should be practical and just choose from what works. You don't have to worry about whether it really fits into socialist theory or capitalist theory. You should just decide what works," he concluded.

Obama then praised Cuba's socialist economy, which has permanently rooted the country in the 1950s.

The comments are basically absurd. According to Obama, between communism and capitalism, we should choose what works? So is he saying we should choose capitalism? The one thing we know after a century of communist experimentation is that communism doesn't work. Capitalism works quite well, assuming the government doesn't interfere and create socialism. That includes socialism for the rich, which is what the United States is flirting with, and socialism for the poor, which is what the millennial are dreaming about. Neither form of socialism is likely to solve basic economic problems.

Basic economic problems are best solved by the free market in which people perform work to provide value to others, which is exchanged through the medium of money to satisfy wants.

For Obama to even suggest communism has some parity with capitalism is, frankly, dumb.

It may be time for Congress to cut Obama's travel budget, in order to prevent national embarrassments such as these. Let Obama run out the clock, safely sequestered in the White House; we will have less explaining to do to the world.
