ALGIERS, ALGERIA (Catholic Online) - Sometimes when the country's army takes over, it is a good thing; as is the case with the dismantling of a terrorist training camp, last week, in Sikasso, 375 km southeast of Bamako.
In the wake of the a big fight against the terrorist groups, operating in the whole sub-Saharan region, a jihadist training camp was dismantled in the forest of "Sama." This dismantling followed a search operation conducted on July 11 by the Malian army.
The operation targeted the camp and brought forth a result of the death of 30 jihadists and 15 people arrested. Weapons and ammunition, motorbikes and several other objects were seized by the defense forces and Malian security.
A notebook with an illustration of a map to the forest was located at the scene. Landmines are expected to be buried underground, as the investigation continues. The capital city of Bamako appears secured, regarding the presence of a surplus of policemen and soldiers, but vigilance remains the watchword of local authorities.
