LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - God created us for a purpose. His plan for our lives can lead us to beautiful and great things, but it is important to remember the path is also challenging.

Many can agree that life's greatest accomplishments follow some sort of hardship like self-doubt, a lack of support or fear, especially when we don't know where or how to start.

Jon Bloom, the author of You Don't Have to Know God's Will, explained how faith is more important than knowing God's plan for our lives.

If we trust in God's Word, He will guide us back to the path chosen for us before we were even born.

Bloom cited Hebrews 11:8, which reads: "It was by faith that Abraham obeyed the call to set out for a country that was the inheritance given to him and his descendants, and that he set out without knowing where he was going."

How could anyone simply trust that they would end up where God wants them if there is no trust? No faith? Notice Abraham did it and he didn't waste time worrying.

Abraham took action and met God halfway. He knew God had a plan for him and rather than questioning where to start, he believed if he lived in accordance to God's law, God would take care of the rest.

Bloom explained how easy it is to question, but it often leads us from God's path and onto a self-seeking one.

"The thing we typically feel is to know how specifically what we're supposed to do, where we're supposed to go, how our needs will be provided, or why the terrible thing happened."

We cannot understand God's reasons for things so it is better to pray and ask Him what His will is for us. Ask trusted members of the Church to pray for you as well. When you question whether God really spoke to you or if it was your own desire, the confirmation will come from the others you trusted to pray on your behalf.

There will be times of doubt but don't let them control you!

God knows our hearts and He knows our struggles.

Bloom explained, "When God's direction and purposes for us are unclear, his promises are always crystal clear. God frequently calls us to stand on the rock of his promises and faithfulness in the murky, swirling fog of perplexing circumstances. Is this not the story of almost every biblical saint?"

The message is clear: God promises then delivers.

Rather than giving in to the tumultuous emotions threatening to tear away your peace, know that when you trust God, He takes care of everything else.

So stop worrying about how to find your path and focus on finding Him. Hold tight to the promises of the Lord outlined in the Bible and don't be afraid to pray for guidance. It is through these acts that you will find your path.
