The NFL football season is coming to a close, and the playoffs will soon be upon us. Which makes this item newsworthy, I think.

The Dallas Cowboys Football Club is, sad to say, a supporter of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest provider and promoter of abortion. This according to Life Decisions International (www.fightpp.org).

Now, I don’t put the blame on the entire team for supporting Planned Parenthood, but I do blame Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who, according to the Republican National Coalition for Life (www.rnclife.org), contributed several thousand dollars to the abortion giant in 1998.

Contrast Jones with Chicago Bears majority owner Virginia McCaskey, a devout Catholic known for her support of pro-life causes. God bless her!

Life Decisions International confirmed to me that “[t]he Dallas Cowboys Football Club is still a boycott target due to its support of Planned Parenthood. Sounds like a major fumble to us.”

Indeed.

PRO-LIFE SOCIAL WORKERS

Don Gatwood sent me the following (edited) e-mail:

“The following is a link to the newly formed Catholic Social Workers National Association (www.cswna.org). We are a Christian answer for social workers who are pro-life. We likewise hope to offer social workers and students of social work an alternative to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), which is one of the largest supporters, both philosophically and financially, of abortion in this country. Thanks in advance for your support.”

Jerry Jones and his wife made a personal contribution to Planned Parenthood in the 1990's. Jerry Jones is the owner of the Dallas Cowboys. Please don't use the Dallas Cowboys name as a scapegoat and ban them because of Jerry's and Gene's Jones personal donation.

Jerry Jones is also an investor in the oil companies. Have you added oil companies to your list he is vested in?

The Cowboys name is being dragged through the dirt because of its popularity as a well known Football Franchise. Jerry Jones is NOT the Dallas Cowboys. If the money donated was not in the Dallas Cowboys name, don't drag the franchise through the dirt. Some people will not know Jerry Jones but MANY know the name DALLAS COWBOYS. It is deceitful to use the Cowboys name as a donator when the money isn't donated under the Franchise name.

.A Christian, Pro Life Cowboys' fan.
