LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Harvard University counts among its notable billionaires New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Citadel founder Kenneth Griffin and David Rockefeller Sr. Stanford University, a distant second place can boast of Jerry Yang of Yahoo and Sergey Brin and Larry Page of Google. Other notable grads are Philip Knight of Nike and David Shaw of hedge fund DE Shaw. Columbia University has 20 billionaire graduates. Financial mastermind Warren Buffett, along with Henry Kravis and Robert Kraft all went to Columbia University. The University of Pennsylvania has 18 billionaires among their alumni, such as real estate titan Mortimer Zuckerman, Daniel Och of hedge fund Och-Ziff and Michael Milken. Ivy-covered Yale University has 16 esteemed former students, such as the heirs to the Mars chocolate fortune Forrest Mars Jr. and John Mars and the Cargill agricultural fortune, Cargill MacMillan Jr. and Whitney MacMillan. Investor Eddie Lampert and Blackstone Group cofounder Stephen Schwarzman also graduated from Yale, and both were members of the infamous secret society Skull & Bones. The University of Chicago comes in sixth place with 13 well-moneyed grads, Joseph Mansueto of Morningstar and David Rubenstein and William Conway of the Carlyle Group among them. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT has 11 billionaire graduates, such as Charles and David Koch of Koch Industries and Irwin Jacobs of Qualcomm. We then come to a tie with New York University and Northwestern University, with 10 billionaire graduates each. Home Depot cofounder Kenneth Langone and hedge fund managers Israel Englander and John Paulson went to school went to NYU and Peter Peterson of Blackstone and Jay Robert and Daniel Pritzker attended Northwestern University. Princeton University finishes the list with nine billionaire graduates. Corporate raider Carl Icahn, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Meg Whitman of eBay all attended the Ivy League favorite.
