40 Days For Life national prayer campaign comes to Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC, WI (February 12, 2010) - Holy Family Catholic Community in Fond du Lac, is joining a 40 day nationwide prolife prayer effort during Lent. "40 Days for Life" is the largest Prolife Prayer effort ever.

From February 17 to March 28 thousands of people will join simultaneously in 163 U.S. cities across America in fervent prayer and fasting. In addition, Holy Family will collect prayer pledges during Lent, and pledge cards will be presented as a gift to Archbishop Jerome Listecki following the prayer campaign.

Will you unite with us and pledge at least 1 hour of prayer during these 40 days?

40 Days for Life is a community-based campaign that draws attention to the evil of abortion through the use of a three-point program:
• Prayer and fasting
• Constant vigil
• Community outreach

40 Days for Life takes a determined, peaceful approach that puts into action a desire to cooperate with God in the carrying out of His plan for the end of abortion in America.

The 40-day campaign tracks Biblical history, where God used 40-day periods to transform individuals, communities ... and the entire world. From Noah in the flood to Moses on the mountain to the disciples after Christ's resurrection, it is clear that God sees the transformative value of His people accepting and meeting a 40-day challenge.
