FRANKLIN PARK, IL (October 19, 2009) - World Library Publications (WLP) has just released “Set the World on Fire,” a new recording by Lansing youth minister and musical artist Noelle Garcia. This new high-energy jazz/pop/rock album is filled with praise and worship, testimony, and songs for the spiritual journey. Garcia, featured during Hispanic heritage month on CNN’s “Latino in America” documentary, with Soledad O’Brien, (airing October 21) gives testimony to youth, especially Latina youth, struggling with body issues and self-esteem. Her song, “My Child” from her previous album, “Meet Me Where I Am” inspired this segment on CNN, based on the high incidence of depression in teenage Latinas.

New CD “Set the World on Fire” offers lyrics that speak true to the heart of the struggle. Garcia describes this as “the daily taking up of our cross in the Gospel message” and offers inspiration for a deeper faith. Garcia refers to a child-like trust in God with the song ‘Run’ which talks about running into the arms of a loving father, graced with a feeling of trust, safety, joy, and abandon. The song is a prayer asking God to grant her that kind of faith. Another track, ‘Stay by My Side’ expresses lament and prayer for hope during a time of loneliness and sadness. The joy-filled title track ‘Set the World on Fire’ was inspired by saint and mystic Catherine of Siena’s message “When you are who you are called to be, you will set the world ablaze.”

Noelle says her inspiration comes from the teens with whom she works. “I want to give them something to pray, not just to play on their iPods. I have found by putting my trials and joys to music, it has helped me pray.” She hopes that others relate to her story and find hope for themselves.

“Set the World on Fire,” WLP product #001895, ISBN #978-158459-4505 ($17.00) is now available online at www.wlpmusic.com where you can listen to sound clips, or by calling 1-800-566-6150. The CD is also available to the trade through Ingram/Spring Arbor Distributors, and several digital stores, including: iTunes®, Amazon.com, Napster, eMusic®, and Rhapsody®.
