Religious Supporters Fight Back After 10 Commandments Removed

WATERTON, MA (OCTOBER 23, 2008) - In the summer of 2000, a Ten Commandments monument was removed from the Wyandotte County Courthouse lawn in Kansas City after the American Civil Liberties Union threatened to sue over what it claimed was a violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution.

Since then, a non-profit organization named Project Moses has fought to erect monuments of the 10 Commandments across the nation. Members of Projects Moses were concerned that monuments of the 10 Commandments (which are central to the Christian, and Jewish faiths) were displayed at few churches. Project Moses members aim to make the 10 commandments more known and more faithfully followed.

Joe Worthing, an employee of Project Moses, and a faithful father of 5 children will talk about the importance of the commandments and his work on "This is the The Day", a talk show on CatholicTV from Boston, MA.

Also featured on the show will be Father Andrew O'Connor. Fr. Andrew will be talking about his mission to help the poor in New York and Guatemala by giving them dignified work. Fr O' Connor is a priest at Holy Family Church in the Bronx.

Friday's "This Is The Day" is rebroadcast throughout the weekend (Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 6:30 p.m.). A new live show airs Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. The show can also be seen on demand at www.CatholicTV.com or downloaded via itunes.com.
