FRANKLIN PARK, IL (January 8, 2008) - Nationally known Dominican preacher and composer Father James V. Marchionda releases his newest recording "Family, Friends, and God: The Music & Preaching of Fr. Jim Marchionda, OP." This new CD captures his inspirational work that is performed all throughout the U.S. and abroad. Father Marchionda has been a full-time preacher of parish missions for many years. His combination of music and message delivered through his powerful songs and preaching has touched the lives of many. It is now available for all to experience through WLP - World Library Publications. (

The message of this new recording is of God's amazing and awesome presence in all of creation, and God's invitation to us to participate fully in the everyday holiness of that presence, right where we live, and among those with whom we share this life. In this message, Father Jim reflects on what it might mean to truly follow Jesus, through an understanding of Jesus' living presence through family, friends, and community, and how we are called to live, act, and become, in order to bring about the kingdom of God, envisioned and lived by Him.

"The contents of this recording reflect what I have learned from my ongoing dialogue with and deep respect for the holy people of God, who are the Church in the United States. In countless ways, they have shown me the very holiness of God, as it flourishes in and through human relationships and human love," says Father Jim. All will be inspired upon listening to his thoughtful reflections. Some must hear tracks include reflection titles like: 'A World Full of God,' 'The Church's Challenge to Peace,' 'It's Not Up to God Alone,' 'The Holiness of Human Love,' and 'Learning to Walk Together.' All are accompanied with powerfully moving songs that help deliver the message.

The beautiful music of this recording features Chicago's finest musicians and singers lead by choral conductor Paul French. Solo artists include: John Angotti, Meredith Augustin, Jim Marchionda, Norma Garcia, Tom Michael, Danielle Aument, Beckie Menzie, and Mary Etrick.

I have had the good fortune of hearing and seeing Fr. Jim in person. He is one of the most inspiring persons I have ever heard. His voice is truly a gift from God. I bought his CD Family, Friends & God and I haven't stop listening to it since I bought it in Feb. I have hopes of seeing him again if he ever comes close to Calif.
