New provider of Catholic radio content goes live

PETERSON, MN, JULY 24, 2007 - In the last ten years, Catholic radio has taken off like never before. Catholic Radio International has been formed to help provide that market with high quality news and cultural content. It is currently available online at our website, www.catholicradiointernational.com. Syndication to Catholic radio stations will begin shortly.

CRI is committed to bringing our listeners news and views they won't hear in other places and presented with the highest production values. Our programs will focus not only on the spiritual elements of the Catholic faith, but also on its impact in the public square.

At the outset, we are offering thrice-weekly reflections from Sally Robb called "A Thread of Grace." Sally is a former co-host of Relevant Radio's "Morning Air" program. She holds a Master's Degree in Art History from Yale University and has spoken to many groups around the country. The name for her show comes from an old Jewish saying that even in the darkest tapestries, God always weaves a thread of grace. A new show is posted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we offer "The Heart of the Matter," where we take a look at the issues behind the headlines to get at what is really happening in our world today.

Finally, we are providing an hour-long program called "UltraSound." Hosted by Jeff Gardner, CRI's Co-Founder and CEO, UltraSound has been called "'This American Life' meets '60 Minutes.'" Jeff takes a fresh and sometimes edgy look at the many issues involved with living the culture of life. UltraSound can be heard three times a month.

Catholic Radio International's goal is to bring to our listeners news, commentary and insight about the events of the world and their impact on our lives. When they come to CRI, listeners can expect a sound that is honest and intelligent, and programming that will enrich their understanding of the world and their Catholic faith.

About the Co-Founders
Jeff Gardner, CRI's CEO, is a convert from Mormonism to the Catholic faith and he has an M.A. in Medieval History from the University of Kansas in Lawrence. He is a passionate educator and has taught in college and high school but has found a new classroom with the new media.

Thomas A. Szyszkiewicz, CRI's President, is a graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville. He is a veteran Catholic journalist having written over the last 17 years in such publications as the National Catholic Register, Our Sunday Visitor, Catholic World Report, Inside the Vatican, This Rock and Columbia. He also served as the editor of The Catholic Times in the Diocese of La Crosse.
