WATERTOWN, MA (July 3, 2013) – The CatholicTV Network will air the Fortnight for Freedom Closing Mass from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. live at 12pm ET on July 4, 2013.

The Fortnight for Freedom Closing Mass will air live on CatholicTV and www.CatholicTV.com. His Eminence Donald Cardinal Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington, will be the celebrant and homilist.

The Mass closes out a two-week period of prayer and action called by the U.S. bishops to address many current challenges to religious liberty, including the August 1, 2013 deadline for religious organizations to comply with the HHS mandate, and religious liberty concerns in areas such as immigration and humanitarian services.

Throughout the two week period called for by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Father Robert Reed, president of CatholicTV offered daily reflections on the theme of religious freedom in a series of Blinks. Father Reed also has prayed a special version of the Holy Rosary: "A Rosary for Our Nation". Visit www.CatholicTV.com/Freedom for on-demand viewing of these reflections and The Rosary, which can still be viewed after the Fortnight for Freedom period has ended.

On July 4, 2013 the CatholicTV Network will also air the Music and the Spoken Word special, “My Country” “Love of Country” and “Flag of Free” at 5pm ET.
