Parish Priests and Directors of Religious Education have access to a powerful evangelization resource offered as part of Catholic Word’s new partnership

Necedah, WI (June 7, 2013) – Catholic Word Publisher Group is pleased to announce a new partnership with Minnesota-based Novo Millennio Press, publisher of the ongoing and acclaimed print resource the Discipleship Series by well-known and highly respected author and teacher Christopher Ruff. This partnership is committed to expanding the Discipleship Series and continuing to provide users with engaging materials that contain an inspiring balance of Scripture, commentary, real-life stories and excerpts from the Catechism and other Church teachings.

Series author Christopher Ruff is passionately committed to developing and writing inspiring small-group resources carefully crafted to fit people’s busy calendars. He calls the small-group experience “a powerful engine for faith formation, personal renewal and community-building, and an amazing platform for joyful outreach” and notes that in 25 years of working for the Catholic Church he has seen nothing that rivals the fruitfulness of small groups. Ruff lived and studied theology in Rome in the 1980s, receiving his S.T.L. from the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and the Family. In Rome, he met Blessed John Paul II and Blessed Mother Teresa multiple times and translated dozens of the Pope’s addresses into English for L’Osservatore Romano (the Vatican newspaper). He was profoundly moved by the radiant witness of these two holy pillars and his books are inspired by the observance of what happens when God’s grace fills a human soul and overflows to touch and change the world.

The Discipleship Series is perfect for parish programs and small group faith formation. The series focus is on helping users foster a discipleship in Christ that overflows with love of neighbor, so that the ancient witness may be renewed: “See how they love one another!”

Ruff’s Series has drawn positive reviews from Catholic leaders like Archbishop Jerome Listecki of Milwaukee who comments, “This expanding set of resources is aptly named the Discipleship Series. I recommend it wholeheartedly to individuals, groups, parishes and dioceses that wish to foster a deeper, fuller discipleship in Christ." Titles in the series include As I Have Loved You, Who is My Neighbor, The Greatest of These is Love (also available in Spanish) and the Unlocking the Beauty of the Catechism – Creed set, each of which has a facilitator’s guide available.
