SAN JOSE, CA (May 24, 2013) - Bishop Patrick J. McGrath announces the availability of Post-Abortion healing to the Diocese of San Jose. Rachelís Vineyard Retreat weekends are offered throughout the year and are sponsored by the ministry of RealOptions Pregnancy Medical Clinics.

Rachelís Vineyard weekends are a beautiful opportunity for men, women, grandparents, couples and siblings of aborted children, as well as people who have been involved in the abortion industry, to seek peace and inner healing. RealOptions has been offering these services to the community for over 25 years.

The retreat weekend is designed to guide participants toward the full experience of Godís mercy and compassion. It provides a very safe opportunity to surface and release repressed feelings of anger, shame, guilt, regret, and grief after an abortion, sometimes as long as 50 years later.

A recent participant in her 80ís revealed that her age and declining health were the main reasons for attending. She desperately wanted to be healed from the pain of an abortion she experienced at the age of 26. After the weekend she said, ďI was afraid to die with my sin and now I am finally at peace.Ē

Another participant said, ďI never knew my wife had suffered so much pain over an abortion she had before I met her. It was a real eye opener to attend the Rachelís Vineyard Retreat with her and offer my support in an area of her life where there was so much secretive grief. Our marriage has truly been blessed. We are closer now than we have ever been. ď

Ample opportunities are provided for individual private time, reflection, as well as small group sessions. These weekends are open to people of all faiths and the Sacrament of Reconciliation is always available for Catholics or anyone wishing to talk with a Priest.

The next Rachelís Vineyard Weekend Retreat will be held on July 19-21, 2013 at The Vallombrosa Retreat Center in Menlo Park, CA. The retreat includes 2 nights of accommodations, all meals, and materials which are provided free of charge.

Rachelís Vineyard Retreats, sponsored by RealOptions, are made possible through the generous donations of individuals, local churches and foundations.

ďI am very, very impressed by the professionalism of this organization and how they are serving our community. I would like to see more parishes working with RealOptions.Ē-Bishop Patrick J. McGrath
