Producer Dalton Delan�s CHRISTMAS ROSE is a Fairytale for All Ages

ATLANTA, GA (December 18, 2012) � Writer and Emmy Award-winning producer Dalton Delan has released his first children�s book, intended for the young at heart of any age. CHRISTMAS ROSE is for all who love Narnia, The Snowman, Peter Pan or A Christmas Carol.

In this dramatic and multi-layered fairytale, readers will experience a Christmas pointedly devoid of the clich�s of snow, Santa and tree. Rather, the reader will escape with a heartbroken girl and a mysterious boy down a dark seashore stretching from the hamlet of Bethel to the town of Nazarene where the girl�s much-missed grandmother dwells. A very special journey that will lead every reader to be content with the knowledge that Christmas rose, again.

The tale brings together elements from both the Old and New Testaments and for Catholic readers, will resonate the message of how perfect Love can dispel the darkness.

The story itself emerged unbidden �out of the ocean�s depths,� says Delan, just before Christmas in 2011. The writer knew he had something special as one of his first readers, Yolanda Prinsloo, felt called upon to illustrate the book, and British-based folk duo Blackheart composed and recorded an elegant and haunting song inspired by the story. The song is available on iTunes now.

Dalton Delan has produced some of American public television�s most heralded documentaries and series, including In Performance at the White House, achieving the hat-trick of presenting Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger severally in concert there. Upon graduating summa cum laude from Princeton University, he began his career in journalism as a Writer/Editor for Time-Life Books, after which he traveled the world for ABC News documentaries. He was an executive at HBO, and prior to public TV, helped launch the Sundance Channel for Robert Redford.
