WATERTOWN, MA (August 23, 2012) –John Bradford to Appear on Live Talk Show of the CatholicTV® Network
On Friday, August 24, 2012, John Bradford of Wilderness Outreach will appear on the CatholicTV Network’s nationally broadcasted live talk show; This is the Day.
Wilderness Outreach is a Roman Catholic Lay Apostolate. The mission of Wilderness Outreach is to challenge priests, seminarians and laymen to embrace and develop their God given masculine spirituality. Wilderness Outreach achieves this by taking men on transformational wilderness expeditions into the American west. During these expeditions the men are immersed in worship, work, asceticism, leadership, and brotherhood.
On a Wilderness Outreach expedition men are removed from everyday influences. No TVs, no computers, or snacks from the refrigerators, no movies and fast food restaurants. A man is required to discover his inner reservoir of strength becoming clearer in his thoughts emotions and prayers. This is the beginning of the process where a man rids himself of his inordinate attachments and learns to give himself to God and God’s plan for his life.
In Wilderness Outreach men are immersed in daily prayer and worship. The discipline of prayer is practiced throughout the day as outlined in the Liturgy of the Hours. Morning, Evening and Night Prayer are recited before sunrise, after dinner and before retiring each day. The Angelus is recited daily at noon and the prayer for physical purity at 2 pm, Mass is celebrated each day at the altar of sacrifice constructed by the men.
Wilderness Outreach challenges men to embrace and integrate the principals of spiritual and temporal leadership into their lives. To find out more about Wilderness Outreach visit: www.WildernessOutreach.net.
Father Reed will also talk with Jeff Foxworthy, host of the American Bible Challenge which premieres on August 23rd at 8pm. The American Bible Challenge is a spirited game show that will celebrate the Bible and its place in American culture. Bible enthusiasts from all across the country will compete in a variety of challenges that will put their knowledge of the Good Book to the test. The show’s prizing will further reflect this celebration of faith as winning contestants will receive money towards their faith communities.
