Sunday, Dec. 2, 8-9:30 p.m. EST (HBO) "Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project." Featuring footage of a recent stand-up performance at the Stardust Showroom in Las Vegas, John Landis' documentary combines clips from the comic's career and interviews with friends and colleagues.

Sunday, Dec. 2, 9:30-11 p.m. EST (PBS) "The Best of Masterpiece Theatre." Host Derek Jacobi is the guide for a countdown of the top-12 programs in the series, chosen by viewers. Each selection features new interviews with stars of the selected series and clips from the episodes in which they appeared. The hour features appearances by Helen Mirren, Hugh Laurie, Diana Rigg, Jean Marsh, Anthony Andrews, Robson Green, Gemma Jones, Charles Dance, Geraldine James, Gillian Andersen, Ian Richardson and others (TV-PG -- parental guidance suggested).

Monday, Dec. 3, 9-10 p.m. EST (PBS) "Barry Manilow: Songs From the Seventies." Singer-songwriter Barry Manilow revisits the 1970s. The hour features Manilow in concert, performing and sharing his personal experiences with the audience at the Steiner Studios in Brooklyn, N.Y. (TV-G -- general audience).

Monday, Dec. 3, 10-11 p.m. EST (PBS) "Northern Lights: An Evening With Sissel and Friends." A new special featuring popular singer Sissel with guest artists, including tenor Jose Carreras, in the 17th-century Norwegian village of Roros, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and filmed in a landmark stone church that has served this community since 1784 (TV-G -- general audience).

Tuesday, Dec. 4, 10:30-11:30 p.m. EST (PBS) "Ayo Live in Monte Carlo." Singer Ayo was taped in performance at the Salle des Etoiles in Monte Carlo in August 2007. During the concert, she performs with her four-man band. Ayo also meets with Monaco's Princess Stephanie and shares stories about their mutual involvement in various children's causes around the world (TV-G -- general audience).

Wednesday, Dec. 5, 8-9:30 p.m. EST (PBS) "Vivere: Andrea Bocelli Live in Tuscany." Superstar Andrea Bocelli returns to his native Italy for a "Great Performances" concert of his greatest hits, along with the debut of new songs. Taped at a specially constructed theater on the slopes of the ancient hill town of Lajatico in Italy, Bocelli is joined by Chris Botti, Heather Headley, Kenny G., David Foster, Lang Lang, Eliza, Laura Pausini and Sarah Brightman for an evening of romantic favorites (TV-G -- general audience).

Wednesday, Dec. 5, 9:30-10:30 p.m. EST (PBS) "Mario Lanza: Singing to the Gods." This special chronicles the remarkable life and times of one of the 20th century's most beloved singing stars, Mario Lanza. The program contains a selection of rare photographs, interviews and footage from movies that made him famous, including "The Great Caruso." Torn between the desire to establish himself as a serious opera singer and the temptations of Hollywood, Lanza was plagued by self-doubt and resorted to alcohol and overeating. This program celebrates his incomparable talents and illuminates the torments that led to his untimely death at age 38 (TV-PG -- parental guidance suggested).

Thursday, Dec. 6, 8-9:30 p.m. EST (HBO) "Sand and Sorrow." A documentary examining the horrific genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan. Narrated by George Clooney, the film examines the Arab-dominated Sudanese government's willingness to kill and displace its own indigenous African people, and the international community's "legacy of failure" to respond.

Saturday, Dec. 8, 9-10 p.m. EST (PBS) "Great Moments at the Met: Viewer's Choice." In honor of the Metropolitan Opera's 30th anniversary on PBS, "Great Performances at the Met" presents a showcase of fans' favorite televised Met moments, chosen through online voting. Voting began Sept. 17, with viewers invited to cast their votes for their top 10 favorites (TV-G -- general audience).
