LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to police in Wrentham, Massachusetts, a 74-year old man was cutting down a tree with a chainsaw when it fell, pinning him to the ground.
The incident occurred near Mount St. Mary's Trappist Abbey, and apparently a nun in the vicinity called police around 4 PM on Jan. 30. Police arrived and rescued the man who was trapped in the cold. They did not release the nun's identity.
Whoever she is, she has not only helped someone in distress, but she has reminded us to be kind to others, and to never hesitate to serve others. As Jesus Christ served us, we should always be ready to serve those around us. May we never turn away from those in need, or fail to answer a plea for help.
Mount St. Mary's Trappist Abbey is known for the fantastic community of nuns and the delicious candy they produce. We're adding a link to this article because, why not? They deserve the support and you deserve some chocolate!
