Father Maximilian encourages us to trust in God, for as the readings show, when we are faithful to His will, we will find the security we seek, but when we go our own way, like the Israelites asking for a king, we will find only suffering and distress. Let us, like St. Anthony, listen for God's call, and when we hear it, respond generously and persevere in that response every day for the rest of our life. Ave Maria! Mass: St. Anthony of Egypt - Mem - Form: OF Readings: Friday 1st Week of Ordinary Time 1st: 1sa 8:4-7, 10-22 Resp: psa 89:16-17, 18-19 Gsp: mar 2:1-12
