In Maccabees, God's people compromised their faith and ruin befell them. Today, we compromise our faith in our work, our schools, and our families, and so the just consequences of God continue to befall us. To keep our minds from being darkened and losing right reason, we must strive to not make any compromises for our faith, even if it were to mean death. Ave Maria!
