Today is traditionally called Spy Wednesday or Traitor Wednesday because the Gospels focus on Judas' decision to start looking for opportunities to betray Jesus. Fr. Joachim explains that Judas' main problem is his denial of his own ability to sin. This led him not only to sin, but to despair afterwards. Whenever we fall into this same delusion we contribute to the crucifixion of Christ. We must continuously keep in front of ourselves our sinful nature and keep turning to Christ for help in our temptations and transgressions. Ave Maria!
