Men can also forgive sins through the power of Christ in the priesthood.  Through this sacrament we aim to reform or lives not just to feel better by confessing our sins. Ave Maria! I really identify with this Homily about forgiving sins. If JESUS CHRIST had not forgiven those that crucified him, then future generations would say, "Well, OK, this JESUS was a good man, but why should I forgive someone for a great offense against me? After all I never heard him forgive anyone for anything." But since CHRIST did forgive all those that opposed him, CHRISTIANITY blossomed into a religion of ultimate forgiveness, even for murder. Thank You.
