My thanks for such a clear and well articulated explanation on such an important subject.
It occurs to me that relativism has even crept into our stewardship of sacraments.
I withdrew recently from being Sponsor and from attendance at my daughters Confirmation because so many of her peers who do not profess the faith and reject the gospel were knowingly being welcomed to Holy Communion and Confirmation anyway. This is such a widespread practice and is so damaging. We cannot properly evangelise so long as we are lying sacramentally about what it means to be a Christian. Surely authentic stewardship here is the most urgent first step needed towards renewal. Please also help raise awareness about this. We are in a Post Christendom sacramental crises.
