CULVER CITY, CA (June 1, 2011) - THE GRACE CARD, a moving drama poignantly illustrating the everyday opportunities we have to rebuild relationships and heal deep wounds by extending and receiving God's grace, debuts on DVD Aug. 16 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and AFFIRM Films/Provident Films.
THE GRACE CARD is the story of two Memphis police officers, one white, one black; one angry at God and the world for a tragedy in his past, the other sharing God's love from the pulpit and the patrol car. Each man tests the firmly held values of the other. When tragedy strikes again, can grace overcome anger and bitterness?
When director David G. Evans saw the hit film FIREPROOF from Sherwood Pictures, he was inspired to make a movie of his own. The result is THE GRACE CARD, which stars Academy Award® winning actor Louis Gossett Jr. (Best Actor in a Supporting Role, AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, 1982), along with Michael Joiner (TV's "Murder," "Mystery ER"), and newcomer Michael Higgenbottom.

Evans directed THE GRACE CARD from a script by Howard Klausner (SPACE COWBOYS). THE GRACE CARD was produced by Howard Klausner, John Nasraway, and John R. Sanders, and executive produced by David Evans and Esther Evans. The film's runtime is approximately 102 minutes. It's rated PG-13 for violence and thematic elements.
SYNOPSIS
Everything can change in an instant . . . and take a lifetime to unravel. When Mac McDonald (Michael Joiner) loses his son in an accident, years of bitterness and pain erodes his love for his family and leaves him angry with God . . . and everyone else. Can Mac and his new patrol partner, Sgt. Sam Wright (Michael Higgenbottom), somehow join forces to help one another when it's impossible to look past their differences--especially the most obvious one?
