WATERTOWN, MA (January 17, 2012) Lino Rulli to Appear on the CatholicTV® Network’s New Program, The Gist
On January 18, 2012, during this week’s topic of “confession”, Lino Rulli author of the book, Sinner, will be interviewed on the set of the CatholicTV Network’s new talk show “The Gist”.
Rulli’s book, Sinner features fast and funny collection of stories from his own life, The Catholic Guy speaks honestly about his failures, successes, and embarrassing moments. His "regular guy" approach to Catholicism is both humble and hilarious.
“Lino Rulli has the guts to write candidly about his struggles with his faith and, in the process, reminds us why Jesus came to call sinners— because we need him. In chapters that are by turns funny, irreverent, touching, inspiring, and always honest, Sinner speaks to everyone who, as Scripture says, ‘misses the mark’—in other words, everyone”, said James Martin, SJ, author of Between Heaven and Mirth: Why Joy, Humor, and Laughter Are at the Heart of the Spiritual Life, and host of the CatholicTV Network’s Blinks, “Ways of Prayer" and "Joy, Humor and Laughter".
Lino hosts “The Catholic Guy”, heard across North America on SiriusXM Satellite Radio 129: Monday-Friday, 4-7pm EST. He also hosts the weekly show “Lino at Large”.
In addition, he has worked in television since 1998. He was co-executive producer on “The Last Flagraiser” – a World War II documentary which aired nationally on CBS. It won the Emmy Award for Documentary, the Scripps-Howard National Journalism Award, the National Headliner Grand Award and the RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Award.
From 1998-2004, Lino was host and executive producer of “Generation Cross”. The show was broadcast across the United States and Canada. Lino won back-to-back Emmy awards as host of “Generation Cross”. He also produced “Champions of Faith” – a Major League Baseball film featuring Mike Piazza, David Eckstein, Jeff Suppan, Mike Sweeney and more.
He has worked as a features story reporter for WCCO-TV (the CBS owned and operated station in Minneapolis) as well as a weekly pop culture commentator for KMSP-TV (the FOX station in Minneapolis).
He has given talks locally, nationally, and internationally, and was one of the emcees in front of 25,000 people for the Pope’s Youth Rally in Yonkers, New York.
