New Immaculée Ilibagiza film reveals the miracles of Kibeho, Rwanda

TEQUESTA, FL (September 7, 2011) - In 1981, the Virgin Mary appeared to several children in Kibeho, Rwanda and showed them graphic visions of war and genocide--Twelve years later, it all came true.

In 1994, the Rwanda genocide claimed the lives of nearly one million people in a period of three months. Immaculée Ilibagiza, a student at the time, survived by hiding in a bathroom with seven other women. Outside, her entire family was killed. LEFT TO TELL, the book she wrote about her experiences, would later become a New York Times Bestseller.

Few people realize, however, that the genocide was foretold in a village called Kibeho. Several children there claimed that the Virgin Mary showed them visions of "beheaded bodies, people killing with machetes, and a river of blood," and these visions were documented in 1982 when Rwanda was a peaceful country. When the genocide erupted in 1994, not even Kibeho was spared; over 5,000 Tutsis were massacred in the Kibeho church, and the nearby Kagera River ran red with blood. So accurate were the visions that the Vatican gave official approval to the Kibeho apparitions in 2001.

Other prophecies were allegedly given to the Kibeho children, some of which involve the whole world. Last year--with the goal of bringing awareness to this important event-- Immaculée returned to Rwanda with filmmaker Sean Bloomfield. Together, they filmed a documentary called IF ONLY WE HAD LISTENED, which investigates Kibeho and retraces Immaculée's journey of faith during and after the genocide. By showing rare archival footage of the apparitions and modern-day interviews, the film combines a historical perspective of Kibeho with a glimpse of mankind's possible future.
