Los Obispos del Comite Permanente de la Conferencia Episcopal de Chile sostendran una reunion privada con el Papa Francisco el proximo 14 de enero.

(ACI Prensa) - El Comite Permanente esta compuesto por Mons. Santiago Silva, Presidente; Mons. rene Rebolledo, Vicepresidente; Mons. Fernando Ramos, Secretario General; Cardenal Ricardo Ezzati, Arzobispo de Santiago; y Mons. Juan Ignacio Gonzalez, Obispo de San Bernardo.
En el encuentro los obispos daran a conocer al Santo Padre "el caminar recorrido por la Iglesia en Chile" desde el encuentro sostenido con el en mayo de 2018.
A traves de un comunicado difundido el 11 de enero, se especifico que los obispos "presentaran los procesos vividos y en curso, los compromisos asumidos y sus proyecciones", en "espĂritu de comunion y colaboracion".
El Papa Francisco sostuvo reuniones con los 34 Obispos de Chile entre el 15 y 17 de mayo de 2018, para tratar los casos de abusos sexuales en el paĂs.
Al termino de la reunion entrego una carta para agradecer la disponibilidad para "colaborar en todos aquellos cambios y resoluciones que tendremos que implementar en el corto, mediano y largo plazo, necesarias para restablecer la justicia y la comunion eclesial".
Esta reunion se desarrollo tras el informe elaborado por Mons. Charles Scicluna y Mons. Jordi Bertomeu, quienes estuvieron en el paĂs sureño en febrero de 2018 para reunir informacion sobre el caso de Mons. Juan Barros, entonces Obispo de Osorno.
A Mons. Barros se le acusaba de haber supuestamente encubierto los abusos sexuales cometidos por el exsacerdote Fernando Karadima.
Durante su estadĂa en Chile, los enviados papales tambien recibieron informacion sobre otras denuncias de abusos cometidos por miembros del clero y de congregaciones religiosas.
Al termino de la reunion de mayo en Roma, los obispos chilenos pusieron a disposicion sus cargos. En las siguientes semanas el PontĂfice hizo cambios en las diocesis de Osorno, ValparaĂso, San Felipe, Chillan, Rancagua y Talca y de la Arquidiocesis de Puerto Montt.
En estos meses los obispos chilenos, en conjunto con laicos, religiosos y colaboradores de la Iglesia local han presentado medidas para alcanzar la verdad, justicia y reparacion de las vĂctimas de abusos sexuales de poder y de conciencia.
