MUNTINLUPA CITY, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - A woman was arrested, last Wednesday, in the cemetery of Villa de Don Fadrique. The 37-year old Spaniard is suspected to have slit her son's throat inside the cemetery, leading to his death. The woman, reportedly a patient in a psychiatric ward, picked her son up that Wednesday from a house or relative.

She allegedly took the child to the cemetery and used a kitchen knife to fatally cut the infant's neck. After the incident, the woman reportedly burst inside the nearby chapel yelling "I have the devil inside." A neighbor called the authorities immediately after seeing the woman walking around the cemetery looking very nervous.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found the dead baby on the site. The mother was walking around shocked and confused to what she had done. The woman was taken to a hospital located nearby for further assessment.

She was found to be married to a man from Colombia. The man, the father of the child was informed about the horrible incident later that day. The couple has another 3-year-old child who remains safe with a relative.

The mayor of the town informed reporters that he knew who the woman was. Mayor Jaime Santos described the woman as "pretty" and said the woman might have been suffering from postpartum depression.

Meanwhile, a police officer confirmed that a judge had placed a secrecy order on the investigation of the murder and he could not provide any more details on the incident. The officer spoke to the media on a condition of keeping his identity confidential to remain with police regulations.

"Blessed [are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4
