Aracely Meza and other church members participated in a secret ceremony to try to raise Benjamin back from the dead.

After reportedly holding a failed "rising ceremony" with other church members, Aracely Meza, a pastor's wife, is now in jail. The Iglesia Jesus El Rey member was charged with injury to a child by omission, according to The Blaze. The 2-year-old child, identified as Benjamin, is now dead. According to the follow-up reports, the toddler's parents have yet to be located after the alleged failed ritual, which lasted for hours, stated in a testimony.

span style="line-height: 15.8599996566772px;">MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - March 26 was when the Balch Springs police in Texas received a tip about a boy who died a few days earlier, mysteriously without any prior report regarding the said death.

The body was said to be located inside a home that serves as a regular venue for the church's meetings, according to a witness. The testimony also explained that the ceremony was held in an attempt to raise Benjamin from his death after he was speculated to have been possessed by demons and not eating for 25 days.

After the said "rising" failed, the parents, along with the other members, drove to Mexico to bury his body which has also not been located.

"We don't know if this was to try and resurrect the spirit of the child and we don't know if this was to try and resurrect the child themselves or what exactly that service or ceremony encompasses. This is all new, that's why we are pulling in a lot of other agencies and their resources and their knowledge and assistance in this investigation," said Lt. Mark Maret in an interview with KTVT-TV.

Meza described seeing a disturbing video that documented the ceremony, holding Benjamin and speaking in tongues beside her husband, Pastor Daniel Meza. Aracely Meza was arrested this Monday with a bond of $100,000 according to reports.
