Sr Maria Valentina has become known as the 'rapping nun.'

Pope Francis will come in contact with the "rapping nun" during his four-day visit in Colombia.

Sr Maria Valentina hopes her rapping can help others connect and find their love for Jesus.

Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Sister Maria Valentina is expected to perform the official song for the pontiff's visit, alongside other musicians. However, Sr Maria stands apart from the other musicians in a unique way - she is a rapping nun.

"The great thing about rap is its memorability," she told AFP, according to the Catholic Herald. "And when it has the depth of truth, like Christ, then it's even more striking."

For Sr Maria, a cool thing about rap is it stays easily embedded in one's head, but her first dream will always be becoming a good nun, with making music coming second.

Sr Maria loves performing and engaging with her audiences.

"More than wanting people to fall in love with my voice, I want them to fall in love with Jesus."

During Pope Francis' Colombia visit he will also meet with their president and Colombia's bishops and visit the Shrine of Saint Peter Claver.
