LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - A YouTube video revealed Pope Francis' uncharacteristic, but entirely appropriate, display of anger.
When an unidentified person pulled the pontiff over the disabled man, Pope Francis openly yelled and shook his hand at the offender as the papal bodyguards flailed about, effectively doing nothing to stop the crowd.
Though the video's audio is unable to capture the pontiff's words above the crowd, Daily Mail reported the pope saying, "No seas egoísta. Qué te pasó, no seas egoísta," meaning, "Don't be selfish, don't be selfish."Following his brief spout of anger, Pope Francis retreated a few steps as the public address system announced that the crowd should not clump together.
Pope Francis continued to wave and hand out rosaries for several minutes, then left.Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi stated Pope Francis displayed a "normal human reaction" to the "excessive enthusiasm."
In the past, Pope Francis admitted he has struggled with anger, but also that he does not remain angry for long.
On a happier note, neither the disabled man nor the pontiff were injured and, if you watch closely, you will see that the wheelchair-bound man took advantage of the papal fall by hugging Pope Francis!
