Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Borrego was diagnosed by doctors at a Lisbon hospital and he spent the majority of his life believing he suffered an incurable disease.

In 2010, he went to visit a neurologist, who discovered Borrego's condition was a misdiagnosis and he did not suffer muscular dystrophy.

In what Borrego could see as a miracle, he learned he only suffered myasthenia, a curable disease that is treated with asthma medication.

Myasthenia is a rare disease, which is likely the reason Borrego was misdiagnosed, but is treated with simple medications.

After only one year of treatment, 61-year-old Borrego was able to walk for the first time in over four decades.

He walked into his usual neighborhood cafe, where he shocked the owner, Manuel Melao.

"We thought it was a miracle," Melao admitted.

Borrego requires only two physiotherapy sessions each year and has reported he is living a normal life.

He does not hold the doctors at the hospital responsible for the misdiagnosis.

He admitted myasthenia was nearly unknown back in the 1960s and it wasn't their fault.

"I just want to make use of my life," he added.

Thank you Jesus, for your healing mercies. Thank you for your revelations and grace.
Amen.
