Two top named musicians set to perform for Pope Francis during his September visit to the United States

Colombian star Juanes and the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will be performing during the international Catholic prayer event, the 8th World Meeting of Families, in Philadelphia. The two will be performing for the Pope in September during the U.S leg of his international visits.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - To welcome Pope Francis on his first ever journey to America, Juanes and Andrea Bocelli will be accompanied by the Philadephia. Juanes was ecstatic to discover that he will be performing for the Pope. In a statement, Juanes expressed that he was "profoundly honored by the invitation to sing for Pope Francis."
The Colombian singer-songwriter is a 2-time Grammy award winner and is also a 20-time Latin Grammy award winner. He recently posted on Twitter, "It's a great honour to be performing for @Pontifex in Philadelphia @WMF2015! #WMOF2015 #FestivalOfFamilies."
While Juanes has more than 10 million followers on Twitter, Pope Francis has around 6.4 million followers.
The Colombian star has sold over 16 million albums globally and is deemed the leading all-Spanish language rock artist. LA Times even referred to him as the "single most important figure of the past decade in Latin music."
Andrea Bocelli is a well-known Italian classical tenor. His album "Sacred Arias" became the largest selling classical crossover album by a solo artist of all time.
Andrea Bocelli has also sold over 80 million albums internationally and was honored with the Hollywood walk of fame star. In 2014, Bocelli received Billboard's Lifetime achievement award. Additionally, he has collaborated with music icons like himself, such as Celine Dion and Sara Brightman.
During a press conference in Rome, Philadephia's Mayor Michael Anthony Nutter announced that he was "thrilled such incredible talent with tremendous global reach can join us."
Pope Francis will also be stopping in Washington D.C. and New York, during his U.S. trip, according to CNN Money.
