With the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector Fr. Elias underlines the need to have humility in regard to spiritual endeavors, not placing ourselves above others. We should make God our standard for holiness not ourselves. In this way we will never fall into spiritual pride, knowing the truth of our littleness before God. Ave Maria!
