Martyr of Persia with sixteen companions. He was the bishop of Seleucia and Ctesiphon in 342. In that year he was arrested and tortured with sixteen of his priests in the persecution of Sassanid King Shapur II. He was offered a cup filled with gold coins if he would worship the Persian god and refused. All of these martyrs were beheaded.
